A Unique Church
Discovery Fellowship began in 2004 with a vision to be a unique church. Unique doesn't mean better than, more spiritual than, or deeper--just unique. As we have developed, we have come to recognize our uniqueness in how we approach to those who don't know a lot about God, the Bible, or church. Our approach can be best summed up in three words: Belong, Become, Believe.
Belong: We see our role as serving as a bridge, welcoming people to church—-rather than a wall, keeping people out. We have intentionally made DF as accommodating and user-friendly as possible.
Become: As people begin to follow the life and teaching of Jesus, we want to walk alongside--rather than in front of them. We don't try and set ourselves up as master teachers, but as fellow sojourners in following Jesus.
Believe: At DF, we affirm the life and teaching of Jesus, as found in the Bible, as the only source of salvation. We encourage others to submit to him, as a loving, gracious, and merciful Savior. We affirm that without submission, there is no real belief.
With this approach, we have discovered that DF is uniquely positioned to help people understand, grow, and ultimately place faith in Jesus for salvation. Over 70 percent of our current attenders weren't attending church prior to coming here. They found DF to be a unique approach to church. Our prayer is that you will too.
